We’ve been keeping this news to ourselves for a while – but now things are quietening down a little we’re incredibly happy to announce that we have a new celebrant on the team here at Celebrant in Cornwall! Joining CiC founder and lead celebrant Lisa and her awesome associate Caroline, is the wonderful Sam.
Lovely Sam, who has recently relocated from Yorkshire, might be a face you recognise… because she and her lovely husband are former clients of ours! On meeting Sam two years ago, we instantly clicked with her, and were very taken with her warm personality, energy and kind way with people. And so when we asked whether she might be interested in training to be a celebrant, very luckily and happily for us, she agreed!
Fast forward some time later, and we have discovered that Sam has a natural aptitude for being a celebrant – she is great with words, she interacts beautifully with others and she has a generous and thoughtful nature. Sam has already officiated at her first ceremony with CiC, a wonderfully romantic wedding at the gorgeous boutique venue Treseren in Cornwall. And the bookings are coming in for 2022!
So what can we tell you about our Sam? Well, like most folk in Cornwall, she has a side-hustle, and in her ‘other’ life she runs an eco-shop in Porthleven, which fits her very environmentally friendly approach to life. She is married to Jon – and the pair of them are super-sporty with favourite activities including snowboarding, mountain biking, paddle boarding and sailing - and when life gets back to normal, they plan to indulge their passion for travelling. They are big animal lovers, with two dogs, two cats and numerous rescue chickens, and Sam also has two very handsome grown-up sons!
As Sam lives in the west of the county, the plan is that she will be delivering ceremonies 'mainly' in this area, but due to demand in 2022, she already has bookings for venues around Cornwall. :-)
I am super excited to join the team at Celebrant in Cornwall! Having experienced a celebrant-led wedding myself, I really love the personality, authenticity and bespoke touches that a celebrant brings to the ceremony. It’s so very different from a registrar or church ceremony – and I feel truly honoured to now be in the position of bringing to others what Lisa brought to my own wedding.
It’s been brilliant getting to know Sam – and we feel she truly complements the team with her enthusiasm, sense of fun and joy for life. We’ll be bringing you lots more news about her in the months to come!
And a big thank you to Chris Armstrong for the photos :-)
